If you are ready for an affordable solution so that you can get back to doing what you do best, then reach out. I’d be glad to take this task off your hands. I find writing to be relaxing and enjoyable, plus I have the added bonus of meeting all kinds of new folks! Thus, you will notice that a lot of my writing aligns with my passion to assist others in becoming the best version of themselves possible. However, I am fully capable of writing on most any topic. Unless of course, I completely hate the topic or find it morally repugnant. Then I will probably pass.

PRICING INFORMATION

Content Compilation vs. Content Generation

Okay, so here’s where the rubber meets the road for most folks, so let’s jump right into it. I have set my pricing on the “very reasonable” side of things, quite frankly because I enjoy doing it and while I have been writing for years, I am relatively new at marketing my services. I make it my policy to treat customers fairly and with respect and strive diligently to provide high quality services on time. Period.

The price list below is based on you providing the majority of the content that you want shaped into a final writing product. What this means is that you are able to articulate the information you need to be included and provide articles, company directories with all pertinent information, product brochures, etc. The opposite of this would be having none of this information complied and I am not only having to write it, but also learn what you do, conduct research necessary and – from scratch – build the information resource to its final stage. I refer to the first case as: Content Compilation. I refer to the second scenario as Content Generation. These, as you can well imagine, have two different price points. The reason I separate these two is that if you do have the information already compelled, it is easier and takes less time so I feel a price reduction is in order. Most people do not have it complied and that’s okay.

Defined: Information to be compiled is largely provided in some form to the writer. Minimal to no research required by the writer.

Blog Posts or Newsletter Articles: $0.15 per word (minimum charge of $50)

  • So for an average post of 333 words, this is in the $50 range.
  • Minimum charge is $50 per post.
  • Client can specific a set number of words per post to limit costs.
  • If client sets a limit – then any variations from that will be pre-approved with client.

Web Content: $0.15 per word (minimum charge of $150)

  • Some web pages are long, some are short. It totally depends on how much information you wish to be displayed.
  • Typical webpage lengths are 1000-2000 words, so this would be in the range of $150 to $300 per page.
  • If you need five or more pages (minimum of 1000 per page), I drop the per-word cost to $0.12, so this would be $120 – $240 per page.

Feature Articles or White Papers: $0.20 per word

  • These are typically more in depth and more technical, which means that they almost always require research, so most will fall in the Content Generation category below.
  • If you do happen to have all of the source materials you want included, the cost is $0.20 per word.

Business/System Manuals or “How to” Features: $0.25 per word.

Custom Forms: $60 each with up to 5 edits/revisions once implemented.

Defined: Information must be gathered and compiled as well as put into a usable, written format by the writer.

Blog Posts or Newsletter Articles: $0.20 per word (minimum charge of $65)

  • So for an average post of 333 words, this is in the $80 range.
  • Minimum charge is $65 per post.
  • Client can specific a set number of words per post to limit costs.
  • If client sets a limit – then any variations from that will be pre-approved with client.

Web Content: $0.20 per word (minimum charge of $200)

  • Some web pages are long, some are short. It totally depends on how much information you wish to be displayed.
  • Typical webpage lengths are 1000-2000 words, so this would be in the range of $200 to $400 per page.
  • If you need five or more pages (minimum of 1000 per page), I drop the per-word cost to $0.18, so this would be $180 – $360 per page.

Writing Services and FeesINTERVIEW PRICING

Interview can be conducted in person or by telephone or electronic means. Obviously, the in-person option will necessarily be more expensive as it may require travel time and more advanced planning vs. telephone or electronic interviews. Which format you select will depend on your specific goal for the interviews and how they are to be compiled and presented once completed.

Interviews in Person: $80 per hour plus $25 per hour travel time and expenses.

Interviews via phone, Skype or other electronic means: $80 per hour.

Written form of interview: This would be priced by category under the Content Compilation pricing above.

  • For example, if the customer wants the interview to be presented on blog posts, it would be $0.15 per word.
  • If customer wants the interview to be compiled into a feature article, it would be $0.30 per word.
